Dear All,
I would like to know the following
* Sprinkles: Why certain drugs are administered with soft food
(Apple Sauce)? Whether it is done only for controlled release
capsules, beaded or other formulation also?, If so kindly let me know
the other formulation. This study has to be conducted in fasting
condition or else fed also.
* Special Vehicles: Anybody has done studies using special
vehicles? What is the need for this study?.
Regards,
Francis

Though the role of apple sauc has not been found, yet some foods have
potentials for inhibiting the effects of p-glycoprotein efflux pump. The
reported ones are appricots, grapefruits, green tea, etc. Such foods
increase the absorption of the drugs which are the substrates for the
p-glycoprotein. The appropriate referenec on the matter is attached
herewith.

of Pglycoprotein. Adv. Drug Deliv. Rev. (2003). 55(1): 53-81.
