An important thing to point out about most of the studies (and there
are very few) and 'experiences' is that most of these are related to
"topical" applications and not "Systemic" use. Even with the topical
application, the absorption kinetics is not well known and frequently
inconsistent. It will also be important to look at physicochemical
properties of the drugs (weak acid / weak base, solubility,
lipophilicity, salt/free form etc.) before deciding on PLO as a vehicle.

After topical application, what is of interest in addition to
absorption kinetics are blood and target bioavailability, of which the
latter is the most important and most difficult to determine,
depending on the type of compound and targets.
