Dear list,
Perhaps a weird question for a PK-related list, but I thought this
might be the right place to ask:
Does anyone know a supplier of GMP-grade (empty) enteric coated
capsules? They are quite hard to find and I wondered if anyone knows
where to get these. Please contact me if you do.
Sincerely,
Rob ter Heine

empty enteric coated capsules will not help
since they are still 2 piece anyway it will not have gastric resistance
regular capsules have to be filled and enteric coating should be done
under low heat
as far as I know

The concept behind enteric coating of capsules/tablets is to ensure
that the drug by pass the stomach acid. And this should be proven by
dissolution test in simulated gastric juice.Where enteric coated
capsules can not pass this test then the problem lies with the quality
of the capsule. Always use the correct procedure to coat the
capsule.Follow the procedure word by word.
Where you are using empty enteric coated capsules be sure of the shelf
life. Just like drugs capsule shells also expire.
