Hi all,
We are trying to feed rats with some beadlets of ~1 mm diameter. We tried using 18 G
gavage needle, but the beadlets will not go through it. Does anyone know about a bigger
pore size gavage needle (lower guage) or other gavage devices that can be used to feed
big particles in rats?
Thanks,
Jin

There are 14-16 ga gavage needles out there.

Thanks very much. That sounds like a solution. However, I calculated the minimum dose for
rat, which is 200 mg of the beadlets (which only contains 5% of drug). It seems I will
need ten size 9 capsules at one time or three size 9 el capsules at one time... Is it
likely to use bigger size of capsules to minimize the administration time?
Thanks,
Jin
