In our laboratory we are performing Busulphan blood determinations and
calculate the AUC for pre-bone marrow transplantation in adults and
children. It is well known the existence of a direct correlation between the
AUC in adults and children and VOD or other toxicity, also, is possible to
establish a direct correlation between AUC and engraphtment or rejection of
the bone marrow transplantation.
Children has a higher Vd and an increase clearance in comparison to adults.
My question is:
Is their any relation between time to maximal concentration (tmax)and obesity?
We found an exponential relation between weight to tmax of Busulphan. The
fatter the patient the shorter tmax they have. Is their any possible
explanation?, is the Vd involved?, why?.
Thank you for your attention and help.
