Group,
I will appreciate receiving the information what values of the absorption
rate constants are reported in the literature for aspirin given in the form of
enteric-coated granules to human subjects in a fasting and non-fasting
state.
Many thanks in advance

Dr.Durisova,
There is a table of pharmacokinetic data for ASA in Applied
Pharmacokinetics 3rd Edition (Evans et al.). The absorption data
for enteric coated ASA in terms of the Tmax, which can be used
to derive the first order absorption rate constant Ka by the
following equation:
Tmax= Ln(Ka/Ke)/[Ka-Ke]
The Tmax for enteric coated ASA was reported to be 8.3 +/-2.9
minutes and 13.8 +/-4.5 minutes with food. The reference cited
was:

of enteric coated aspirin: correlation with gastric
residence time, Clin Pharmacol Ther 1987;41:11
