hello,
i am ravi kanth.please clarify this doubt of mine.
it is a well noted fact that during stress there will be an increased
levels of cartisol, the stress hormone. i read in one article
published in Science, may 1998,that cartisol increases absorption of
fat in the body, so it was said in the article that people under
stress are prone to gain fat due to increased absorption.so if there
is increase in the absorption of fat, is there any chance for the
increase in the absorption of highly lipophilic drugs.
or it is the other way round ie as there will be an increase in
the adipocyte mass, there will be an increased distribution of the
lipophylic drug into it and so will not be available for the systamic
circulation.
other possibility is that absorption may be delayed due to slow
release of the drug from the adipocytes.
if any research is carried out in this area please send me the citations.
