I have a question for the group. Is anyone aware of any product
labels that contain information on the presence of a drug interaction
and vitamin supplements, food supplements, or herbal products (e.g.,
St Johns wort)?
Thanks in advance.

Pete:
St. John's Wort is contraindicated with HIV protease-inhibitors
(Amprenavir, Indinavir, Lopinavir, Nelfinavir, Ritonavir and
Saquinavir) due to it's induction of CYP3A isozymes. As for vitamin
supplements, SATIETE® (Wellness International) has this warining:
If you are taking MAO inhibitor drugs, tricyclic antidepressants,
SSRI antidepressants (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft) or prescription diet
drugs, do not take this product without medical supervision.
Hope this helps,
Varun

Dear Peter
The effect of St Johns Wort on P-Glycoprotein is known
and there is a recent article in CPT which may be of
help to you. I am mentioning the reference below.
