Dear All,
Hello!
In a Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Modeling for oral absorption
of drug, what is value of area of absorption generally taken? Please
mention the references too if any?
With regards,
Jyoti.

Dear Jyoti,
there is no general answer to your question!
To get usefull results, one has to use the area of absorption, on which
the
available permeability values are based. That means, if you work with
permeabilities that are determined with sections of intestinal tissue
the
makroscopic area of the gut wall has to be regarded. For permeability
values
measured with cell layer (e.g. Caco2) one has to take the real surface
area
including all magnification factors deriving from villi and micro villi.
