To all,
We are working with a compound that readily hydrolyzes at basic pH in
urine. In order to accurately determine the amount of parent vs
hydrolysis product excreted into urine (vs formed in bladder or in
collection apparatus), we are looking for information relating to the
urinary pH of urine from cynomolgus monkeys and marmosets. Are there
any diet (or other)related factors that could shift pH either up or
down in these two species (one to be used in 28 day GPL tox study).
Thanks - Dave

David. Juices and fruits are the best approach. Supplementing diets
with HCl or vinegars would also help. These approacheas are also used
in humans. The down side is that they may also alter the absorption
and distribution.

Please do not forget that an overnight fasting
(usually performed in tox studies) could increase
urinary concentration, and anesthesia if used.
