We have a drug that is said to be soluble only in DMSO that we would
like to administer IP to mice. Recognizing the later issues with
trying to switch to practical formulations for human trials, can anyone
provide information on the maximal concentration and dose of DMSO
tolerated IP?
Many thanks

I don't know if you got the answer, but look up Bartsh W article on LD50
of DMSO. In any case: LD50 in mouse is 2500 mg/kg and rat is 8200
mg/kg.

I have and old reference that gives different LD50s (specfic gravity
1.10).
Mean LD50 (mL/kg) 95% CV

Mouse IV 6.9 6.1-7.8
Mouse IP 12.6 11.9-13.2
Mouse PO 15.0
Rat IV 7.4
Rat IP 9.9 7.9-11
