A recent posting about passive membrane diffusion models got me
thinking.
That email was focussed on in vitro or ex vivo screening, but I was
thinking
of the situation when there is in vivo kinetic data. Some studies
measure
concentrations in whole blood and in plasma over time. The change in
the
blood/plasma ratio over time could be used to estimate passive diffusion
through erythrocyte membranes. My questions are has anyone done this
already, and how good/bad a model of general membrane diffusion would
you
expect it to be?
