Dear All,
Bit of a tox. question here...
Does anyone know of the original (if not, any!) reference for the
histamine response in dogs using the excipient, miglyol?
Thanks in advance.
Iain

Iain,
If it is any help...At Glaxo in 1972 it was regarded as common knowledge
that Cremophor does this. That was referred to in several
publications on
the intravenous anaesthetics Althesin and Propanidid. They were both
abandoned due to anaphylactic reactions in a few individuals and the dog
histamine release phenomenon was regarded as a warning sign that this
would
occur in humans.
