Does anyone know of a reference or guidance (FDA or ICH) that
provides recommended symbols for PK parameters? I recall a
publication back in the 1980's that had preferred symbols but cannot
now find the paper. I am participating in the validation of a
software that includes a database of PK/PD parameters and we need to
standardize the symbols in the database.

Dan,
Although dated, a good place to start is "The Mathematical Approach to
Physiological Problems" by D.S. Riggs, published in 1967.

Dan
There was a publication from Malcolm Rowland and Geoff Tucker on the
standardization of PK parameters - J Pharmacokinet Biopharm. 1980
Oct;8(5):497-507. Following this there was an US publication which was
the result of a working group which is all that I can remember but I am
sure that there is someone out there that will remember.
