Hi all
I want to know whether it is good enough to use UV as a method for
enalapril determination because the literature says that it does not
give a good reproducible peak maxima and sometimes is almost not
observed. I want to know about the other methods which can be used
for determination of enalapril maleate including those in
permeability studies
Thanks in advance

Dear Lokesh,
We have run sample analysis of enalapril and enalaprilat
determination in human plasma in BE studies by LC/MS/MS and did not
notice unreproducible peak plasma.
It is exact that the concentration of enalapril are lower compared to
enalaprilat but we could still detect enalapril with an LOQ of 50 pg/mL.
I don't think that UV method will allow you to detect this level and
thus this is probably the reason the literature implies no need for
its quantification?
This is an analytical point of view, maybe a pK point of view would
be different?
Comments and/or replies are welcome

Sylvain
