Hello,
I am trying to analyze the long term degradation of an acyl
metabolite by esterases in saliva and my results indicate that there
is a depreciation in the concentration of the product.
My question is :
Does esterase enzyme activity (in saliva or in media like plasma for
instance) decline in a couple of freeze thaw cycles?
Any appropriate literature is welcome.
Thank you

Anisha,
I have used the esterase enzyme in the past and had no issues with a
few freeze thaw cycles. However, any degradation may be a result of
how hot and cold your cycle is and how long it stays in at those
extremes.
Sorry, I have no literature.

Anisha,

yes enzyme activity decreases with number of thaw cycles and duration
of freezing
