Dear Colleagues,
Does anyone know the values of hepatic and kidney blood flow of
animal species (rabbit and dog).
Thanks,

Khalid,
I've just picked up the following values (mL/min) from Davies B and
Morris T, Pharm Res 1993, 10:1093 :
- rabbit liver: 177
- dog liver: 309
- rabbit kidneys: 80
- dog kidneys: 216.
Hope that helps.
Regards,

Here is a good old reference for that and other physical measurements on
animals used in pharm models: "Physiological Parameters in Laboratory
Animals and Humans" by Brian Davies and Tim Morris, Pharmaceutical
Research, vol 10 no 7, 1993 (p. 1093-1095).
Specifically, hepatic blood flow for rabbit and dog is 177 mL/min and
309 mL/min, respectively, and kidney blood flow is 80 and 216 mL/min,
respectively.
