I guess the question is not so much whether you can, but rather
whether you should. It's always possible to pool data and treat them
in a multicenter trial context, particularly when small sample sizes
are involved. The flip side of the coin is that even with more
elaborated procedures, such as combinatorial meta-analysis, possible
bias is very hard to control, meaning that a good sound meta-analysis
of poorly designed or conducted studies may well end up in disaster
(the 'gigo' syndrome, garbage in garbage out). So unless all the
studies are closely scrutinized and the raw data (not just the
summary Cmax's and AUC's) are available, I would exercise caution.
