Dear All
1) I have one question Rp-hplc IS USED FOR retention of non polar
molecules(drugs). How they are soluble in methanol, acetonitrile and
water they are the polar solvents being the molecule is nonpolar in
nature.
2) NP-hplc is used for highly polar molecules how they are soluble
in non polar solvents being the molecule is polar in nature.
Kindly give me the Reply.
Regards
sujan

Solubility is relative. adjusting the temperature, pH, molarity and the
kind and % of organic modifier can change the solubility of your
molecule from a preference for mobile phase to a preference for mobile
phase. As a good shortcut see advanced chemistry development at
www.acdlabs.com they have a complete suite of chromatographic
simulation programs.
