Hello,
I have come across papers where insulin formulations have
been tested on non-diabetic animal models to maintain basal level of
insulin. I am confused as to why these formulations were tested on
non-diabetic animals and not on diabetic animals. I would be
immensely grateful if someone kindly clarifies my doubt.
Thanks.

Hi,Nilanjana Das ,
I think the most probable reason is non-diabetic animal model was
simple ,and easy to determine the dose-response relationship, just
like the dose of most medicine printed in textbook came from health
animal. Second, there are too many interference factors and
uncertainties came with the building of diabetic animals.
