Dear sir ,
I am working on clopidogrel bisulfate in a pharmaceutical company M/
S Indswiftlaboratories ltd.I need reported value of log p, Aqueous
solubility and pKa value of clopidogrel bisulfate as well as method
of estimation of these values.
Pl.try to send by mail at the earliest,
With best regards & wishes

Dear Dr Verma,
According to Plavix (Clopidogrel bisulfate) Product Monograph
(www.sanofi-aventis.ca/products/en/plavix the drug is practically
insoluble at neutral pH but freely soluble at pH 1. Aqueous
solubility of 50.78 mg/ml is discloded in Drugbank Database,
howevever, the solution is highly acidic. pKa=4.55, partition
coefficient: about 3.9 at pH 7.4 in a water/octanol medium. To
improve the pH-solubility profile of clopidogrel, the following
paper may be useful:
I. Kolbe, M. Vikmon, A. Gerloczy and J. Szejtli: Preparation and
charachterization of Clopidogrel-DIMEB complex , Journal of Inclusion
Phenomena and Macrocyclic Chemistry, Vol. 44 Iss 1-4, 2002, Dec.
Kind regards,
Maria Vikmon
