Hi,
I have couple of questions with reference to drug metabolism assays in
drug discovery setting.
1. Do we have any examples of metabolism of a non-ester (or non-
prodrug) compounds in rodent/human plasma? Except esterases, which are
the enzymes that are present both in plasma and liver of a rodent/human?
2. Where can I find the differences (with regard to presence or
absence of a metabolising enzyme) between rat and human? Any standard
references?
Thanks

Hi Satya,
I think you can find some information in the interspecies database
(www.interspeciesinfo.nl).

Satya,
both gemcitabine and AraC are metabolised by cytidine deaminase which
is present in both plasma and liver of humans and mice.
