Hello all,
I have a question about a vehicle we are using in oral dosing.
We used a Solutol/Sodium-Acetate (100mM, pH 5.5) buffer as vehicle for
oral dosing of xenografts in CD1 nude mice without problems. Recently
we had to switch to Balb/C nude mice and in vehicle controls we
experienced serious bodyweight loss of up to 15%. It is definitely not
a compound or xenograft/tumour problem leading to the bodyweight loss.
Has someone knowledge about limitations of usage of Balb/C mice
regarding different vehicles?
Any suggestion is very welcome.
Thanks in advance
Matthias
