Drug Metabolism Scientist
Northeast US client is seeking a PhD scientist with postdoctoral work
in metabolism studies. Specifically, this position entails the
ability to assess the metabolism pharmacokinetics and ADME of NCEs to
aid in the selection of lead compounds through development. This
position has a strong emphasis on the conduct of in vitro metabolism
as well as in vivo metabolic characterization. these studies include
animal and human microsomes, hepatocytes, as well as purified
baculosomes. Additionally, experiments include metabolic stability of
small molecule NCEs in both microsomes and hepatocyte, CYP isozyme
characterization and phenotyping, as well as assessment of CYP
inhibition, and induction. In addition to an understanding/
implementation of phase I oxidative metabolism, the ability to design
and conduct phase II conjugation metabolic studies is also required.
Responsibilities also include metabolic profiles in a variety of
biological matrices. The harvesting and preparation
of microsomes and execute metabolic studies in primary hepatocytes
is also required.
Determination of Km and Vmax also required.
In addition to the above, responsibilities include bioanalytical
method development and sample analysis LC-MS/MS is strongly desirable.
Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in metabolism,
pharmacokinetics, or related field and postdoctoral training in
metabolism. Should have 5+years of industry but each candidate will
be seen as an individual and in terms of their accomplishments.
Qualified, US based candidates, please send your CV to broseberry.at.cartermackay.com
