Dear All,
I am trying to develop a bioanalytical assay for etoposide to support a cancer study. During the method development, I found that the drug is not very stable in plasma, as the QC samples were approximate 15% below nominal values after being place unde the room temperature for 24 hours and in -20 freezer for one week.
Etoposide has a lactone group, and I don't know if it could open in plasma under the room temperature. I would like to hear comments and suggestions from anyone who had the similar experience in etoposide, and any advice on how to best deal with drug having stability issues.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Luke

Hello Luke,
A while back I did some work on the stability of Etoposide in normal saline. I found similar problems and therefore conducted this small stability study. Here is the reference.
