The measurement of drugs with carriers requires that care be taken to
prevent release of the drug from the carrier during sampling/
preparation in order to assess drug free of carrier and that still
contained in the carrier- much like measuring free and bound drug
except that the latter association must also be taken into account.
At any time during sampling drug will be present in liposome, free in
circulation and bound to elements in the circulation. Care must be
taken to prevent disruption of the liposome until release is needed to
resolve drug association.
