Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of any available commercial sources
for human/rat mdr-1a transfected MDCK cell lines?
Thanks

The primary commercial source for most cell lines is the ATCC. Have
you tried there?

TCC is having MDCK cell line but I need the one with stable
transfection of mdr on it. I dont want to do the transfection myself
so just wondering if there is any commercial source.

I have worked extensively with MDCK-MDR cells and we obtained the
cells from a collaborator's lab (who developed the transfected cell
line) since it is not available commercially.

If the line is fully documented it should be acceptable. If it is
not, it may be serviceable for research. The risk is still there,
however.

[Maybe your second or third copy, or maybe your first from PharmPK in
a few days. It seems I've had some server setting problems - db]

Here is the address for human MDR1-transfected MDCK cell
......The WT MDCK and human MDR1-transfected MDCK cell line
were acquired externally (Piet Borst, Netherlands Cancer Institute,
Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and the murine Mdr1a-transfected MDCK cell
line was constructed internally (Pfizer Inc., Groton, CT)......

Hi,
I just would like to let you know that SOLVO Biotechnology also
commercializes stably transfected MDCKII-MDR1 cell lines together with
others such as MDCKII-BCRP and that custom development is also
available.
Kind regards,
