Hi
Is it possible to compare plasma data after single dose of extended
release formulation with data obtained after 3 doses (TID) of a
conventional dosage form using WinNonlin 5.2? The interval between two
dosing is 8 hrs.
Thanks

Hi Nadeem,
I think one will need a little more information and clarification to
answer your question. Also your last sentence (The interval between
two dosing is 8 hrs.) is somewhat confusing. Are the two formulations
given 8 hrs apart, i.e., you give the controlled release formulation
and 8 hours later start with the TID? Or the 8 h refers to the TID
dosing? Are you administering the same total dose?
Assuming that by "compare plasma data" you mean comparing AUCs and
possibly Cmax values between the two formulations and that the total
dose is the same in each formulation administrations, you may compare
the AUC0-infinity or Cmax between the two. A common outcome is that
AUCs are comparable but Cmax and tmax values are normally not.
