Dear Group,
I would greatly appreciate any comments on Clavulanic acid absorption through skin (in the case of local administration). By the way how it is absorbed in gastrointestinal tract, actively or passively?
Thank you

Parvin,
Oral uptake of beta-lactams is mediated by peptide transportors in the
gut. You may want to look up earlier work by Gordon Amidon; a recent
reference by L. Charr and D. Merlin, Laboratory Investigation (2006),
86, 538-546 highlights the role of hPepT as a specific transportor.
