TIKANIS is pleased to announce the release of PottersWheel 2.0 for
systems biology, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic and disease modeling
and simulation. PottersWheel is built as a Matlab toolbox with
extensions to C and Fortran compilers to enhance the speed of modeling
performance. High quality graphics, automated reporting, easy-to-use
graphical user interface for creating complex models are features that
lowers the barrier of entry to complex systems biology and disease
modeling.
PottersWheel comes with hundreds of library models in the area of
cardiovascular, immunology, neurology, metabolic disease, oncology,
stem cell research and synthetic biology. The library models are open
source so that users can modify existing model to fit their need.
Through our graphical interface in model designer, users can easily
incorporate a drug or chemical model to a disease model through a
right-mouse click; PottersWheel automatically compiles the integrated
model. Bringing data into PottersWheel is easy and rapid.
PottersWheel has important features that make it the product of choice
for systems biology and disease modeling:
(1) it can run 1000+ combined differential equations with much ease
and efficiency
(2) user-defined language interface is very simple; users utilize
chemical reaction concept, e.g. A + B -> C
(3) interoperability via SBML (systems biology marked-up language)
allows users to download systems biology model and convert it to
PottersWheel model through our webservice
(4) extensive sensitivity and identifiability analyses that are standard outputs
(5) 20 different types of integrators and optimization algorithms
(6) open source library models so that users can modify their model
(7) models are created and compiled in C language on the fly through
PottersWheel model definition language interface, offering the user
great flexibility and enhanced performance
(8) easy-to-use graphical user interface to link chemical reactions to
create complex models
(9) web service that offers XML translation so that users can increase
their capital of library models; users can share their data and models
with designated colleagues through our secured web service portal
(10) capable of running on clustered computers
(11) automated reporting of modeling output to Word or pdf
PottersWheel can be downloaded from www.sysbiomodeling.com or
