Hello everyone,
I am looking for a list of drugs where the metabolite shows a longer terminal
half-life when the parent drug is administered to humans (iv route) and when
the metabolite is administered (iv route), the terminal half-life is actually
shorter. One example is propranolol. Could someone please suggest me
about this.
Thanks in advance

Hi, Nelamangala,
Please find our published paper in Drug Metab. Dispos. 29: 1035-1041, 2001
for your reference. In this paper, we found that the elimination half-lives
of two metabolites of Sampidine were longer than those of directly-injected
metabolites. Several other references quoted in this paper also have
similar observations.

Request for help from a nonexperienced user !
I have a WinNonlin program (version 1.1) which I have used for a
pharmacokinetic analysis of a drug and its main metabolite in rat
following IV perfusion of the drug. I would like to model drug and
metabolite data simultaneously (see attached file - NOT attached -
db). I tried to build a particular model without success I have basic
knowledge of model writing. I used differential equations to describe
the model and I had difficulties in including the equation of the IV
input.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Thanks.
