Dear all,
Seeing as I pay absolutely no attention to all postings, and promptly
delete messages before they have time to passively diffuse into the
abscesses in my brain, could someone kindly refresh my memory re: PK
textbooks?
Am currently looking for a nifty one to fill me with inspiration and
wisdom. The one by Yu (or somebody with a name that sounded like that!)
seemed like a popular one in previous discussions....anybody have details
on publisher, costs, etc? Only one I seem to be able to get my hands on at
the moment is the Rowland and Tozer one.....
Would be much appreciated! Promise I'll read the messages and commit them
to memory before I delete them this time! :-)
Cheers,
Dave

Dear PharmPKers,
I would like to get recommendations for introductory pharmacokinetics
textbooks.
As an adjunct to our pharmacokinetics software (PK Solutions), we are
working on arrangements to provide a selection of pharmacokinetic textbooks
that can be purchased at a good discount for both individual and multiple
copies. We currently handle Gibaldi & Perrier's "Pharmacokinetics" (end.
ed., 1982) and Notari's "Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacokinetics"
(4th ed., 1987). Any recommendations of other textbooks particularly suited
for teaching introductory pharmacokinetics would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

I would recommend:
Applied biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics. 3rd edition.
Shargel L & Yu ABC
Appleton & Lange, Norwalk, 1993.
Handbook of basic pharmacokinetics, including clinical applications. 4th
edition.
Ritschel WA
Drug Intelligence Publications, Hamilton, 1992.
Pharmacokinetics. Processes and mathematics.
Welling PG
American Chemical Society, Washington, 1986.
These textbooks are particularly suited for teaching introductory
pharmacokinetics. I use them on a regular basis with my 3rd, 4th, and 5th
year pharmacy students.
