Drug Transport/tissue culture people:
I have this question about MDCK cells,
can these cells and other cells like Caco2, HeLa, CHO survive in
suspension form
for several hours ?

Regarding if MDCK cells and other polarised epitheial cell lines
which are used in drug transport studies can survive as a suspension
and for how long. I can give you these two comments
First: They stay in suspension for about 48 hours before they settle
down and bcome adherent monolayer every time you do passaging and of
course they dont lose their viability in this process.
Secondly They only polarise and differentiate when they are adherent
so practically they not useful for any studies when they are not
adherent (drug transport)
